On countdown and he's doing well....
Always have respect for him for the abuse he got warming up at St Marys by our fans and then gave us a clap as he came on. Remember our fans giving him a standing ovation as he came on after that.
Took it with the spirit it was aimed at.
Decent pro and funny after dinner speaker.

Can't remember the exact details but there was a story about him kicking the ball out of play straight from the kick off so that someone he knew could win a bet for the time of the first throw-in of the game.

I wouldn't go so far as to say there was media pressure on the FA to not select him for his country until he did so, but it would probably be fairly easy to construct such a viable case, given the arrogance of the media.
